The Truth About Forgiveness

"The Truth About Forgiveness"

fools play a number
games they hate to lose
He never did what He told her
she still waited for proof
but she couldn't feel him anymore
curled up on the bathroom floor
and the sound of stale music
made her ears feel sore
the dim lights offered no comfort
the walls felt colder than they were before
if time's a reel, it's not working
she's tired of bleeding and choking
he left her chained to the ceiling
had nothing to do with believing
but she couldn't feel him anymore
curled up on the bedroom floor
and the sound of his footsteps
made her head feel sore
light from the sun turned her elbows red
but she just welcomed the change
he never claimed to forgive and forget
he just remains the same
he just remains the same
he just remains the same
he just remains the same
